The Jezabels

Benjamin Francis Leftwich

Australia’s award winning rock quartet The Jezabels will set out on a Canadian headline tour this spring in support of their internationally acclaimed debut album Prisoner. The Canadian tour begins in Montreal on April 17 and wraps up May 1 in Vancouver, with a stop in Edmonton at the Starlite Room on April 26.

Released in Canada on Dine Alone Records, Prisoner was recently certified Gold in Australia and has earned the band a number of accolades at home including two Australian Independent Record Label Association Awards (AIR Awards) for "Best New Artist" and "Best New Single," as well as an FBi Award for “Best Live Band”. The band has also received plenty of international critical acclaim including being named as one of NME Magazine’s “100 Best New Bands.”

2011 saw The Jezabels touring non-stop including a sold out UK tour, a riveting performance at last year’s SXSW and a successful North American tour with Polaris short-list nominees Hey Rosetta! In Canada, Prisoner continues to climb the campus radio charts across the country.

Tickets for The Jezabels Canadian headline tour go on sale Friday January 27, 2012

Opening for The Jezabels will be rising star BENJAMIN FRANCIS LEFTWICH. This young Briton first won widespread acclaim in his native UK for his two EPs, thanks to the smash hit single "Pictures," which was named "Hottest Record In The World" by BBC Radio 1 host Zane Lowe, and a cover of Arcade Fire's "Rebellion," which was downloaded over 30 000 times. His debut full length record, Last Smoke Before The Snow Storm, features the new single "Box Of Stones."
