Dubbed an “internet sensation” by Rolling Stone and honored as XXL’s Freshmen Class of 2011, Mac Miller has built up a loyal fan base and won critical acclaim. His Rostrum Records debut, Blue Slide Park, is the latest step in the remarkable career of this Pittsburg-born rapper. The title takes its name from the playground in his hometown where locals hung out, and thematically draws from memories of everything from childhood to last night's party.
Musically gifted, Miller began teaching himself at an early age how to play music, and the freestyle nature of hip hop soon grabbed his attention. It wasn't long before the young Miller began making a name for himself for his great ear, positive message and distinctive Golden Era delivery.
His first two recording projects, The Jukebox and The High Life, generated a buzz on the street and online, and in 2010, Miller signed with Rostrum Records. His debut album, K.I.D.S. featured the hits "Knock Knock" and "Nikes On My Feet," which became online sensations, both on iTunes and YouTube.
With Mac’s recent successes he has received acclaim from his large fan base as well as industry publications. His music is a mainstay on popular Hip Hop sites such as Nahright, Rapradar, and TheSmokingSection. Mac was also featured on the cover of XXL Magazine and in their coveted Show and Prove section, and has been called "The Steel City’s Newest Rap Posterboy," by Complex Magazine.
In 2011, Mac’s star continued to rise, with his widely popular and sold out "Incredibly Dope Tour," and the release of his highly anticipated album, "Best Day Ever." His first official album, "Blue Slide Park" dropped in November 2011, and hit the top of the charts immediately.
